Car won't Start ( Serious HELP is Needed

Hey Guys : I need bigtime help .

I Have a 91 RS TBI 305

Sunday I power washed the engine bay of my 91 Camaro i just bought last week and started it up afterwards and it started ok ......i took the air cleaner off with the car running to make sure no water was in the cannister .

When i removed the air cleaner vac line i got the ( service engine light ) and the idle raced up to 1800 and i got it to come down to about 1100 but it stayed there .

Because it was late and dark i was going to try to check the code the next day and let the idle thing stay for now and turned the car off and 2 hrs later to go home .........NO START .

Anyhow the next day we checked the following : spark , fuel, plugs, cap & rotor , switched batteries cause mine was crapping out from trying to start it .

we have now replaced the following : plugs , cap & rotor , coil , wires .

It also shows NO CODES

Still no start . :mad:

any ideas ???????

ALL HELP would be greatfull !!

are u getting power...are the lights inside the car turning on? is the engine even cranking? if ur rotor gets wet u can be in sum ****, i've seen peeps do wut u did with the pressure washer and fry there whole ecu....hopfuly ur is just wet if that s the case

Does it have fuel pressure? Quick check it by turning the key to on (not start) a few times to build pressure. Then use something thin to open the schrader valve at the test port and see if fuel squirts out.

Did you check the connectors at the distributor? There are 2 sets, one that sends juice to the coil, the other sends a signal to the computer. If the one that sends sig to puter was loosened by power washer, you would get spark, but no fuel since puter doesn't know you are cranking. Pull the ignition module and have it checked at Autozone. I have seen an engine have spark, but not start cause module was weak.

Thanks for the Help guys !!!

But i got it going last night after i installed the MAP sensor & Ignition mod .

Now i have to chnage the TPS and some MAT sensor ........i ficked it up good ......but i guess i got lucky compared to what you guys told me about the ECM .

$410 Can ........thats expensive engine wash :(

And for you American guys ........$410 can works out to about $14 US .......lol

there is no test port on a TBI equiped car to the best of my knowledge since i have spent hours staring at random sh*t under my hood for no apparent reason.

LOL .........thanks for the Help guys !!

I went to 1 of my sponsor dealers today and had them hook up their code machine and it came back 100% .

whatta ficken week ........but all's good now .!!

Ya I shorted it out by spraying it off ........i got lucky i know a that did that and shorted out his ecm :(
