Motown Muscle Race 2 at Martin US131 Motorsports Park - May 29th
Motown Muscle Race 2 at Martin US131 Motorsports Park - May 29th
It's time for race 2 in the Motown Muscle Point Series. We will be at Martin US131 Motorsports Park (http://www.us131motorsportspark.com/Track%20Info.htm) on Sunday, May 29th. Everyone is welcome to come race but only Active Club Members will be award Point Series Points and have a shot at getting your name on the MM Chris Jackson Memorial Cup for the 2005 race season.
The schedule will be a bit looser than in the past because we have more time to pace ourselves. So the general schedule will be:
10:00AM - Gates open with Tech and TNT opening up from the get go
1:00PM - Class start running with TNT in between rounds
4:00PM - Awards and wrap up
Cost Info:
We are going to keep the same cost split for racing this year with members racing for a $10 discount at each event. So the $30 savings pays for your $25 annual membership fee if you attend all three events.
Members that are current on their dues will race for $30.
Guests can race for $40 or they can pay the $25 membership fee and race for $30 for the day.
Once again, there will be no charge for spectators this time out. We want you, your friends, and your family to come out and have some fun at the track.
All classes require the standard safety equipment for your speed/ET to clear tech. If the track tells you to slow down... then that's what we have to do.
Class Summary:
Class 1 - Run what you brung quick 16. Fastest 16 cars get a shot at heads up racing. Expect 9-11sec cars this year with a few guest cracking off some 8sec passes. It's heads up, pro tree racing. Everyone has the same tree to beat so use that and let the cars take care of the rest.
Class 2 - 11.99 and faster ET bracket racing. This one should have it all with turbo(s), juice and some SC cars coming out to play. Street tires, DRs and Slicks keep the racing fun and fast.
Class 3 - 12.00 and slower ET bracket racing. There is going to be some grudge racing going on here this year after our three way tie for the point series.
Prize Money and Drawings:
Each class will payout: 1st-$100, 2nd-$50, 3rd-$20 and 4th-$20.
We will also have our usual drawings for gift certificates from our sponsors.

Being right down the street makes it an easy trip for a good track, some interesting cars and plenty of fun people.

if my rear end just recently started whining at around 40-45 mph u think it will make it there and make a few [passes and make it home. not like i get traction.
Re: Motown Muscle Race 2 at Martin US131 Motorsports Park - May 29th
i run my nitto EP's 245's they dont hook up at all. i have a 3.08 open 10 bolt. for mods. i have a SBC 350 carbed. .040 over. rougly 450-500 hp crank. and th350 trans with a stock stall. i spint rhough all thee gears. off te line even if i try hard not to. in the 1-2 and the 2-3 big time thorugh both shifts. the whine hasnt gotten worse. i just dunno if i should trust it or not. i blew the orignal 3.23 that was in it witht he v6. but this isnt clanking at all or jerking. its just whining at around 40 mph.
