Help-Prospective SS Buyer

Hey, Newb here. I have been wanting a camaro for years now. I'm getting rid of my old car, and that was the car I was planning to look for. On the way to work yesterday, I saw a an SS on the road for sale. It is a '97 black, with t-tops, automatic exhaust, and is 'supposedly' a 30th anniversary edition (how can you tell if it actually is, I didn't see any tags on the sides). Anyways, the car is in good condition minus a nick or two, and a tear in the back seat. And it is sitting on 56,300 k. For 10 g's, is this vehicle worth my while?

PS- I was looking for a manual camaro, is there a noticable difference between the automatic and the stick? And what are the what are the major differences between the LT1 and LS1.

All 1997 Camaros are "30th Anniversary" cars, and have it embroidered on the seats/headrest. There was also a "30th Anniversary" upgrade package for the Z28 and the SS, that consisted of white paint, white wheels and orange stripes on the hood and hatch.

LT1 and LS1 are two completely different engines... with the LS1 being a newer design, almost totally unrelated to the traditional Chevy small block V8. "Search" on this forum for a thread on LT1 vs LS1 that is currently fairly active.

10k sounds fair but not great. As for manual vs. auto. Manual has more gears giving it a slight edge IF driven well.
