1997 Camaro SS For Sale *Reduced*

1997 Camaro SS Build #25
350ci 6 speed manual
Reduced to $5500.00 7/7/05

Autotrader

94,000 miles, it was a blast to drive, I really hate to sell it but it has to go. I’m concentrating on a road racing Camaro, so I need the space and money. Car has low build number. It has a 1996 Camaro/Z28 Ram Air box and Analog odometer which makes it very rare. Car has a spun Rod Bearing due to failed oil pump. Car will start. GM sells a LT1 350 4 bolt short block for $1500.00 but they are hard to find. For serious buyers I will advise where one can be picked up. Suspension is set up perfect for handling. All accessories work perfect. Super Cold AC. Body is straight never wrecked or smoked in, still has the leather smell. Paint in good/great condition, small chips in the front not bad for a 94,000 mile car. I WILL NOT PART OR SEPARATE

Standard Options

Cruise Control
Remote hatch Release
Fog Lamps (removed due to constant rock breakage, I still have originals)
Power Door Locks
Power Windows
Grey Leather Interior – 30th Anniversary embossed in headrest
Power Mirrors

Factory Alarm
T-Tops with locks and covers
Factory Bose AM/FM CD Player
Rear Window Defogger
Body Side Molding
Monochromatic Paint (Mirrors and Roof are same color as car - RARE)

SLP Options

Light weight Composite RAM AIR hood
Rear Decklid Spoiler
SS Plaque
Tier II Bilstein Suspension System (Stiffer Springs and revalved Bilstein shocks)
Hurst 6 Speed
Engine Cooler
Torsen Limited Slip differential
AAM differential Cover
SS Floor Mats
SS car cover

Engine
350ci 4 bolt main. (New short block at 52K miles)
LT4 hotcam
GMPP 1.6 Roller Rockers

Re: 1997 Camaro SS For Sale

It would at the minimum require a bottom end rebuild. Typicly $1000 on up depending on the extent of mods parts etc anything that may be reused on existing shortblock (Crank rods etc..) I do not have the engine apart so i do not the extent of the damage, but it is a rod knock. I know of a dealership which still has GM 4bolt lt1 short blocks for about $1500. The dificulty is realitive to any type of engine work you may have done in the past.

Re: 1997 Camaro SS For Sale

ok, so it wont necessarily NEED the new block???

Also, I'm going to be going on vacation to Arizona at the end of June. I'll be in Scottsdale (i believe about 40 minutes away from you) so if you still have the car then, i'd definitely like to come see it.
