What insurance are you guys using?

I had originally heard good things about Esurance, but I'm now starting to hear some bad stuff. It seems that they give you a nice low quote to begin with then slowly raise your rates after 6 months or so. This is happening with my fiance right now, they just raised her insurance $200 for absolutely no reason. So we need to find a new insurance company for her. She has a perfect record except for one ticket she got about a month after she moved to FL. That ticket was about a year ago.

So what do you guys recommend? I've heard good things about State Farm and AllState. I'll probably try to get some quotes for her soon from those 2 companies.

i've been happy with geico for the past 4yrs.

currently have the car in the sig, 27yrs old, totalled my 96Z almost 2 yrs ago. no other tickets on my record.

i pay $116 a month.

before the wreck on the 96 i paid $100 (right after i turned 25), after the wreck it went to $130. and just recently dropped to the current level.

We've both tried Geico and got outrageous quote. I've never been able to figure out how anyone saves money with Geico. I don't have much of anything on my record either and they quoted me almost $3000 a year for liability only on a 8 year old Honda Accord! That's just rediculous! They quoted my fiance like $1700 for liability only for her Corolla when Esurance was $600. I don't think Geico will work for us.

Geico won't insure my car again :D

I thought Progressive's policies were pretty liberal, and the rates weren't bad. I'm using Nationwide right now. I'm currently paying $160/mo, but I've got some things on my record which need to fall off.

I've heard great things about State Farm if you have a clean record.

I am on Progressive now...

ehh... not to sure about Geico... they want you to list your mods bigtime, saying you street race if you modify your car, and I heard rumors they are not paying claims if you are modded. But could be just rumors. But I am learning the hardway, ****ty insrance blows. Worth the extra money for good insurance.

PS I have heard esurance is a bitch if you ever have a claim.

Esurance has raised my rates the last go around, but they are still way less than anyone else. Have had 2 claims where the other party paid, but esurance was ready to pay and reclaim loss within 24 hours. No complaints.

State Farm, I am an old guy (37), so my rates are fairly cheap. I have my Z28, Hayabusa, Corvette and Grand Cherokee all for about $240/month.

$360 a month here...
expensive, but we got a 17yo daughter.

and we've totalled 2 cars in last 6 years...one on roof.
and USAA has POUNDED Geico in court for one wreck when was my kids fault,
and they B-slapped the lady in the Stratus who put the F-150 upside down.

so yeah, i'm with Eric, i'd rather pay abit more, and know they will handle problems.

USAA if you have any military connection.

i never listed any mods on my 96 or my 99. i don't think they ever asked. seems like someone asked if i had any stereo stuff once...and i don't.

i was well modded when i totalled my 96.

talked to the claims guy about buying it back and he asked why...i told him i had $2500 in mods on it. he let me go to the junkyard and strip all them off. no problems.

only complaints i had were that it took a month to get my check from them. but then again this IS the keys...we work slower down here.

ive had Esurance for 3 years, no problems, and my rate has continuously gone DOWN every year.

ive had a bit of experience with allstate, and i dont feel like typing the whole experience, but lets just say i hope everyone at allstate gets cancer.

my gf has progressive, and her car was just recently totalled by a Sears van (their fault). progressive has NOT been very helpful at helping her, and they arent even paying out!
the sears company insurance liberty mutual is even worse, they blatantly tried to trick her into signing off their responsibility to pay.

I have a 94 Z28, and have 1 accident and im 30...just trying to compare..

im 24 and i had the insurance on the t/a for the past 3 years with esurance. it started out at $300 monthly, and has continued to go down bit by bit until i was at about $195 a month.

i recently cancelled the t/a policy, and switched it over to my 740il, and i pay about $220 a month for it.

i think i have 2 minor violations within past 3 years.
i have a few damage claims from accidents that were not my fault, it still raises my rates. they are over 3 years old though.

im having my mom insure the t/a in her name since its like $50 a month and i only drive it 1-2 times a month anyway.
