New rims and tires94NDTA 05-12-2005, 05:38 PM I went from 16x8's to 17x9.5s and 17x11's in the back. Should I a new front end alignment? Zack 05-13-2005, 02:08 AM look at your old tires..are they excessively worn on the inner edge of outside edge? if not, no alignment 94NDTA 05-13-2005, 08:54 AM Well, I havn't had it aligned in 3 years, the first pair of tires were only on for about 1,500 miles, and this pair has been on for about 3,500. The other pair of tires were brand new, so I can't see any visable wear. I am just trying to fix a shaking of the steering wheel I get at 90-100 mph, and was wondering if this was it. Zack 05-13-2005, 09:57 AM shaking is most likely the balancing 94NDTA 05-13-2005, 10:05 AM Of the rims and tires? The rims and tires are balanced. 94NDTA 05-16-2005, 07:47 PM Anyone else? GCEZ28 05-18-2005, 07:21 AM 3 years?? How many miles? I would suggest getting it to a good front end shop and have any worn parts replaced and an alignment. I can almost guarantee that if you drive it regularly that by now you need some parts replaced. at minimum, an alignment. 94NDTA 05-18-2005, 10:05 AM uhh....3800 miles. It still only has 26K Reznor 05-18-2005, 11:23 PM clean. what offset in the rear? where'd you purchase the wheels from? i want to get 11's in the back, but they stick out too much on the sides :o 94NDTA 05-19-2005, 09:55 PM 50 mm, they fit perfect, not sticking out on the side. I forget where I got 'em. jchevy 05-19-2005, 11:18 PM clean. what offset in the rear? where'd you purchase the wheels from? i want to get 11's in the back, but they stick out too much on the sides :o You have probably seen the 17x11's with the 36mm offset. The 50mm doesnt stick out much. If you want I have a picture of mine I can post. They are the 50 mm Black_Z28 05-19-2005, 11:28 PM Just don't drive 90-100mph. Simple as that. Reznor 05-20-2005, 12:04 AM is 50mm offset the "highest"? i thought i remember seeing a mfg that offered them in 56mm offset, but can't find it. i'd like them to be flush with the top of the fender, maybe tuck in just a tiny bit. jchevy, yea, i'd like to see some pics  :D jchevy 05-20-2005, 12:17 AM The 56 mm is the for the 17x9.5 wheel, you run that in the front. I thought I had a pic that showed it better, but these are the best i can do right now. They stick just inside of the top of the wheel well. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jared1181/rear001.jpg http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jared1181/rear003.jpg EDIT: http://jareds95z28.cz28.com/images/IM000383.JPG Reznor 05-20-2005, 01:22 AM nice fitment i think im gonna go with a set of c6 z06 wheels 18x 9.5 ans x11 in rear should look something like this, but in LS1 form http://www.servelite.com/_files/slicks.jpg | ||
