Ok guys i know some of you may hate me for this but im buying a mustang. I happened to find a nice 86 hatchback foxbody with alot of work done to it already without motor or tranny. Well i have a 3800lb 75 Camaro with a 406 that runs low 8's in the 1/8 with a stock stall and street tires so i figured my motor and tranny in this car with good stall and tires would be wicked setup. If anyone out there has done this before my biggest stumper right now is what headers do i use?making motor mounts and modifying crossmember is no big deal and guy told me where to get the end for driveshaft. Any info i appreciated or any additional advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Dale

great swap idea
ive pondered this many times
I would think that Third gen headers would fit because of the simular front suspention design. might have to get creative on the driver side for the steering shaft. hell try the headers you already have. hell S-10 V-8 swap headers could fit. you could fudge it a little because you have to modify the motor mounts anyway.
if a 460 can be shoved in a fox body, a sbc sure as hell can work

I heard that early Nova headers work in fox body SBCs. As cramped as those engine compartments are on an early Nova I can see how they should fit. It would be nice if you knew some folks who would let you borrow headers from different cars but if not, try the cheapo flowtechs before spending a ton of cash. I've got nearly a thousand bucks in headers in my Nova just trying ot match a set. I've got a Hooker on one side and a Hedman on the other.
