Shimming a resurfaced flywheelblackz97 05-06-2005, 12:50 AM Picked up my flywheel from the machine shop today. I asked the machinist about shimming the flywheel, he said it wasnt neccessary because they take less then .010 off the surface... So yes, flywheels can be re-surfaced too much, if all they removed was .010" then you have plenty of material left. Sorry to use this thread, but do you know what is the stock thickness for an LT1 flywheel? I have an aluminum one that has been resurfaced and I might need to do it once again.
