Cobalt sales kicking a$$!!!! 22,726 for April (+ other GM sales news)

Cadillac Sales Up 19 Percent; Led by Best-Ever STS Sales and Record CTS Sales. Pontiac G6, Chevrolet Cobalt and Buick LaCrosse Again Post Best Sales

Cobalt = 22,726 for April, 51,888 for the year so far. That is a crazy monthly jump. Cavi still had 1,914 and Aveo sales are up a lot 5,783 for April 42% up for the month 62% for the year. With big SUV sales down it looks like people may finally be shifting back to small cars.

also....

XLR sales are up 17% for the year... why do people say this car is selling bad? They are at 50% of there initial projections and 8 months of the year left to go.. Summer and the V-series arn't even here yet.

Malibu sales are still going crazy, up 71% for the month, 62% for the year. and the "Classic" is still selling 9,000+ a month

GTO 1111, up 64% for month, 78% for the year

G6 sales keep climbing now that are at 11,790 monthly and the coupe, vert, GTP, and 4 cyl models arn't even out yet. 8,625 Grand Ams were still sold

Not surprising. The Colbalt seems to be a good car for the market it's in.

As it goes for here in the Great North: STS has been slow thus far, but everyone ands their brother seems to want a CTS now. It's crazy! Cobalt has yet to catch fire, but I feel as summer comes, so will the buyers for this great compact.

We will never stock another XLR. The 2004 was a huge piece of sadness in how it didn't move. And let me tell ya, that's one big **** interest payment...

Just delivered the last '04 last week, and all the 2005's are gone in one form or another.

I'm really looking forward to seeing/ driving the coupe. All the regular 2006 advancements are appreciated also. G6 will be hot this summer, I can feel it.

The depressing thing is, all those models are posting impressive gains and yet overall GM's sales are down. That means some others models took pretty huge decreases. Kinda highlights the problem of GM having too many models to keep afloat. For every success they have, they have 2 other vehicles that flopped or are past their prime.

Focus sales YTD are 64,916. I don't know on the others. YTD, Focus sales are down 2.3%, but were flat for April.

Saw my 1st Cobalt coupe on the road today. An eyeball melting blue.

It looks like a Honda front on a sports coupe body with round tail lights, and nothing like a Cavalier.

I mean that in a good way, not a put down.

I'm actually starting to see quite a few around here already. At LEAST 1 per day. You know, from a distance, the rear of the sedan looks a lot like a small G6, sometimes I have to squint to figure out which of GMs new cars I'm looking at.

And FWIW, I'm also starting to see a lot of G6's on the road as well.

Can't wait to see the Cobalt SS/G6 GTPs running around.

SUVs (other than the Equinox) are down a lot. Grand Prix isn't doing too hot this year either. Time to switch the GP to RWD.

Colorado/Canyon has been doing very good too. GMT355 is again the #1 selling midsize truck platform.

Cheapest 400HP car you can buy, and you get a BMW quality interior, you would have to be crazy to want one

Ya, but, I mean... Car And Driver said bad things about it... so the fact that people actually are buying them is pretty worthless and all, ya know...

Malibu has leveled off here, selling steady but not crazy.
I have yet to see this "leveling off" from the Malibu, its been flying. 62% up on the year, and the Classics are still selling at decent numbers.
