Door lock actuator ?

Does this sound like the door lock actuator is going bad? Using the remote both doors lock. The drivers door won't unlock. It clicks and the rod tries to move but doesn't move far enough to unlock the door. I took the panel off to make sure the rod wasn't binding on something and it's not. Manually locking and unlocking the door works fine. Passenger door works fine.
Thanks in advance for any info.

What does it do using the door switch?

Pretty much the same thing. It will lock using the door switch but not unlock.

Check the end of the rod that locks/unlocks the lock. Might be pushing it to the locked position and not pulling it back to the unlocked position. I think its only a cotter pin that holds that where its posed to be. Take it back apart and watch the travel.

Having the passenger door problem as well. I hear something in the door, but it doesn't lock or unlock. Anyone find a good repair solution?

Check to see if somehow the manual lock/unlock actuator rod is binding. Unhook it from the latch and see if that resolves the problem. It could be the servo is weak, or the rod is binding.

common problem, the actuators go bad as do the switches, if the door locks on your remote but not using the switch inside its the switch, if it just doesnt lock all the way with either the remote or the switch its the actuator. this is just like the ****ty power window motors gm doesnt make some of this little stuff very well.

i have actually already figured this out...if you take out the actuator you will see a plastic rod... it is white colored..that controls the manual door switch. if you active the locks with the remote you will see the plastic rod pop out of a white colored rubber notch. i tried to stick mine back in but the rubber part was torn..i am sure the dealer would not sell just the little part that is torn...i was thinking about trying to silicone mine in...i had a spare lock so i may play around with it and see if it holds. :D
