What wheels should I get?slayer6x6 05-01-2005, 06:02 PM Im kinda stuck here on my decision. Im deciding between chrome Z06 wheels, or the black motorsport z06 wheels. They are going on my black tinted T/A. Mindgame 05-01-2005, 06:22 PM Don't really care for black wheels on black cars. Just gets to be a little too much, but that's just my opinion. :) Since you're only giving two options.... I'd take the chrome Z06's but either way.... buy what you like and enjoy. -Mindgame Zack 05-01-2005, 06:26 PM well, i want black wheels on my black car, but ive seen those motorsport z06's in person, i dont care for them, kinda happy with my chrome z06's, slayer6x6 05-01-2005, 08:23 PM How is the maintence on your chome wheels? I bought the polished aluminum ones a few months ago and Im tired of polishing each wheel by hand every other month to keep them shiny. I would thing the chrome ones are a little easier to keep clean. slayer6x6 05-01-2005, 08:28 PM BTW, does anyone have a pic of an LT1 T/A with the black motorsport wheels? That would help my decision. Mindgame 05-01-2005, 08:58 PM http://www.extreme-z.com/appearance/gallery/fwheels/98_02_Trans_Am_WS6_black_black_Z06_wheels_blackout s?full=1 From Brent's appearance guide. Kinda hard to tell what's on the car but that's the way it is with black wheels. :) Not that it looks bad, but you have to have everything just right (lighting) to really discern the wheel shape, features, etc.. -Mindgame Zack 05-01-2005, 09:28 PM and those arent the motorsports on that car either, actually, looks kinda photoshopped. the motorsports have NO lip to them, why i didnt like them :-/ maintanance on chrome is fairly simple. just some soapy water and towel dry, and apply a coat of wax or 2 to help repel dust and such Schmidt519 05-01-2005, 10:28 PM I say definitely go chrome Z06 on a dark colored car. I got them and I am very pleased with them, can check out my Z06 wheels in my sig below. Mindgame 05-01-2005, 10:40 PM http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=507431&highlight=black+z06+wheels+car Mucho better pics. :) Good luck on your decision. -Mindgame Dave '97 Z28 M6 05-02-2005, 02:18 AM I like the look of polished aluminum best. And you can buy/get them clearcoated, eliminating the high-maintenance aspect that slayer6x6 mentioned. HERE (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7971733728&category=66483) is a set of Y2K's for sale on ebay... they are black, but have a machined face. If you could get them in Z06's (and I don't think you can), they might be just the ticket. slayer6x6 05-02-2005, 01:16 PM Well I just won the auction on the chrome ones. They were around $760 shipped. So if anyone is interested in a 1 month old polished aluminum set, they are for sale. | ||
