Anti Lock Brakes on Third Gen Camaro

I want to dramatically improve braking distance. Can I swap out a 4th gens ABS system into a 3rd gen IROC-Z? I figure it would be alot cheaper if it's a used setup as opposed to new. Wha do you think?

abs does very little to shorten your stopping distance, what it does is allow you to steer while panic breaking

u wanna stop faster, get some real wide, sticky tires, real big brakes all around, and lighten the car as much as possible

Can you recommend a full brake set up? I want a significant change and feel.

bear or wilwood, pretty expensive, but worth it. I have seen guys drop braking distance 30 to 40 feet with a full front/rear set up, and wide sticky tires.

A lot of guys are doing the LS1 front swap. Check out thirdgen.org - I'm sure there are posts about the swap. Our rears (if you have disks) are not too bad with some good pads. You can also do a LS1 rear swap, if you have drums.

If you have the $$$ though, Baer makes some sweet setups that bolt in.

i didnt order the kit because i can do most of the work myself, and i can get parts cheaper, so i bought only what i need, email him, i'm sure he can work somthing out if you send him your spindles (thats if u can afford to have the car sit for a while)
