Hey guys,
Through work I have come across a 79 Z28 camaro that could probably be picked up for a fairly good price. Had it on the hoist today and was poking around. Body is good, shiny black paint didnt see any rust. Has a SBC with a funny looking blue bottle in the trunk, muncie 4spd, and a posi rear. Chassis is built to handle the corners, 6pt cage, koni adjustable shocks, del-a-lum front bushings, lowered springs, racing rubber, side sump oil pan, blah blah blah. From what I can tell its a fairly well put together car, some of the custom brackets could use some extra bracing but the guy has done his homework on what parts work. Anyhow, if you are in the market for a fun 2nd gen I will get you more info. Id buy it but I dont have the money or time to put into a camaro right now.

I will have to see what the guy wants for it now. Now its running well (sat for a couple months, needed calipers and fresh fuel) he wants to clean it up and try to get a lot more cash for it. I could have had it for a VERY low price but now I think it will almost double. Give me a couple days to find out.
I am not too sure of what this car is built for the more I think of it. Dont need a cage, fire suppresion (cab and underhood) or nitrous to do AutoX, and it doesnt have the brakes for serious road racing. Im wondering if it was a paved hillclimb car or just a street driven canyon carver. As for the del-a-lum,THESE (http://www.true-connections.com/images/del-a-lum.jpg) are del-a-lum bushings. Del for delrin, a-lum for aluminum. You can buy other delrin bushings, but those ones are called del-a-lum. You can buy delrinAF as well which is delrin, mixed with teflon. Its not quite as durable as pure delrin, but is much more slippery.
Cheers.

I didnt ask. I would expect the car would sell for about $8k or so if it were cleaned up.
