I wonder how glowing a review for the ($35k cheaper) Corvette would be if it had so many "minor" things breaking... :think:

Sweet car, of course, but dang... I guess if you can afford that sort of toy, 600 dollar oil changes/checkups are not a big deal.

I don't think C&D would have as big a problem with the Corvette as you imply. Over the last 20 years or so the Corvette has been the one GM car they always love, and second those things wouldn't go wrong in a Corvette anyway. :usa:

Still, though, the front control arms have to be replaced ( :alert: ), and it merits just a casual mention in the context of fixing a clunk from the front end? :think:

You are also right that those sorts of thing probably wouldn't break on a C6 (or C5), regardless of how crude and unrefined it feels compared to the "surgical" 911... :lol:

Dear Car and Driver Idiots:

Lots of guys with a whole bunch of letters after their names designed the seat belt system in the Carrera, installing some doo-dad that alters the tension of the lap section of the belt relative to the shoulder section is... well.... *%$^@ STUPID. See... there are this little thingys installed in lots of cars called PYROTECHNIC SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS which are designed to take the slack out of the belt in a collision. Having this aftermarket POS on your seat belts isn't doing the belt system any favors ESPECIALLY SINCE IT RUINS THE RETRACTOR FUNCTION.

What a bunch of idiots.

Oh yeah... and called that raging piece of automotive trash anything other than a quality disaster of the first magnitude goes beyond the pale.
