Thumbs down Black Magic Tire gel

Anyone else use this stuff? I had a bunch of people recomend it, so I got it. It doesn't sling of which is good, and it does make my tires look really nice. But I go out to getitno to my car and my tires look like white feather boa's. They were completely coverd in those white fluffy seeds that fly around! I drove the calais to work today:MAd:

I prefer Meguiars Tire Gel. Be sure to let it sit for 10 minutes then wipe it off. It doesn't leave a greasy look, but a nice clean looking shine.

Black Magic does sling, I stopped using it on my old Redfire GTP because I was sick of wiping off little grease marks.....hardly noticeable, but I knew they were there.

The stuff I'm using now slings, but not a whole lot... I think it is Meguire's Endurance... it's purple, and smells like grapes.

Very shiney and lasts a good while.

I may order the Zaino stuff next time I order Zaino to try it sense everyone says it is 'sling-free'... I'm hoping Sal will come up with a glossier formula though, even though I'm sure the 'satin-ish' finish looks nice too...

Thats the stuff the grape smell gives it away. Mothers california duration not a high shine but last forever. The origional meguirs lasted for 6 months no joke. Its no wonder why they took it off the shelf right away. Now i use Turtle wax tire wax or back to black. Works good and dosen't come off like the grape smelling meguirs.

I remember seeing a can of stuff that supposedly stays shiney but hardens on your tires and doesn't come off. They sold it at a car show...don't know if anyone has tried it yet.

Meguiars Endurance does not sling bad at all. It used to, but the last bottle I bought has not slung a bit after application. You just need to let it sit. It has a good shine without being overly greasy or wet looking.

I haven't used Black Magic gel in a while now. I really liked how it shined though. It did sling more than the Meguiars if I remember right. It has more of a shine than Endurance, but it isn't overly greasy or shiny to me either.

Man if you guys are slinging this stuff off how much are you putting on? I have been using the tire gel for years and it hasn't slung off yet. I put just enough on to cover the tire and that is it. It leaves a medium shine and really makes the tires look "clean"

Could be that my tires are dry but they are brand new. Maybe it is the temperature. here in fla it is usually warmer so maybe that is it......

I put enough on to cover the tire ...but it still slings off especially if you go on the freeway.
