Uh Oh, T-Tops leaking, need new weather stripping?

Passenger and Driverside are leaking, passenger side is much worse. This mean my weather stripping is shot? They both seem to leak right at the top.

The Driverside T-Top has rubber stripping literally peeling right off the T-Top on the underside. I noticed there was like a bolt. Can I buy weather stripping for the T-Top ITSELF or do I need to replace the T-Top?

Where's the best place I can buy new weather stripping thats in decent shape?

Also will I need to replace the driversside T-Top because the underside weather stripping rubber is peeling?

Yes, the problems with the t-tops. A $700 option that looks good when the car is new and after a few years the leaks. Now you pay again, hardtops all the way.

Mine drip a little in one spot during heavy rain but that price is worth it me when it's a nice summer day and I can go topless to the beach.

LOL the hardtop guys always regret the hardtop, and find something as simple as $5 weather stripping on the t-tops and say "$700 wasted, t-tops suck, always go hard top!!"

Mine are 11 year old T-Tops, they never leak on heavy rain. High pressure car washes are a little different story. Leaks a little bit, but worth it.

What's your problem? Did you help in any way, in either of your posts?

Yes, T-tops can leak once in a while. It's WAY worth it to many of those that bought them however. I've had mine for 8 years and never had a drop enter my car other than the time I shot the high pressure washer directly at the weather stripping by mistake.

To be honest, I have worried about the T-tops leaking, but so far so good. One suggestion is to keep the seals in great shape by conditioning them with the appropriate vinyl/rubber weatherstripping dressing. A GM dealer could probably suggest the appropriate product. I think they have a GM product specifically for weatherstripping/seals.

I don't have a problem as much as you do, I just voiced a opinion on T-tops and the problems after a few years. so live with yours.

I have had 2 Fourth Gens and a third Gen that were all hard tops.
I can honestly say I wouldn't want to go back to a hardtop...

Fine, but the guy is obviously looking for help and you decide to rub it in. How helpful of you. You make a BIG assumption: "I just voiced a opinion on T-tops and the problems after a few years."

My T-tops do not leak, nor do many others. It's been 8 years since I bought my car new, and never had a leak.
