Re: what would cause an ABS light to appear?
Anything from a broken sensor harness, bad sensor, dirty contacts, build up of crud around the reluctors, bad ground, etc, etc, etc...
If it's a wheel sensor, a scanner can tell you which one and you can hunt it down from there. Best bet is to get it scanned so you're not wasting time/money.

Re: what would cause an ABS light to appear?
Every three months or so I have the same light. I take out my relay clean the contacts and it goes away. It keeps coming back because I've been too lazy to actually get a good clean contact. Its usually at the side of the road and I scrape it with a knife to remove the light.
Re: what would cause an ABS light to appear?
i think I found the prob, I switched to the 98 and up SS wing and the 3rd brake light is now an LED light and the PCM isnt detecting it a light because it dosent draw much amperage, what do you think?
i am gonna try to get a 194 bulb and socket and splice it in to let the PCM know that there is a light working.
any opinions??

Yeah it happend right after the wing swap but at the time I didn't realize that a third brake light prob could have caused an ABS light to come on, now that we seemed to have pieced it all together I am confident that the problem is that.
Thanks for the help guy's! and I will let you know if this little experiment works out.
Gary.
