looking to see if anybody has any personal exp. with either head units. I'm going to purchase the kit but I'm weary as to which to get. I've heard of lots of problems with the p1sc and I'd like to hear from some actual owners.

I have a p600b unit installed it back in 1996 put about 90,000 miles on the unit(put it on when the car had about 25,000 miles on it). The FMU went bad and cracked #1 ringland a little over two years ago. Rebuilt the motor and sent the head unit back to ATI to get freshed up. Two years later the motor and blower still work great. Good luck in anycase.

They're both good blowers, but the P1SC has several advantages.

1. It can be upgraded down the road.
2. If anything happens to the engine, you don't have to worry about ruining the blower too, or the other way around.
3. You don't have to punch a hole in your oil pan.
4. The P1SC isn't as loud as the P600b.

I ran the P600B for years without a problem, it is very durable. But, it was too loud for me in the end. I switched to a Vortech V2 with helical cut gears.

Running a self-contained blower seems to have its advantages. But it's hard to beat engine oil for lube and cooling.
