Time for an oil change in the 3.8, just curious of what oils everyone uses.

Winter: Mobil 1 10w-30
Summer: German Castrol 0w-30

Both are synthetics which I'll typically run 8-9k before changing them. I can pull this off since I drive 90% highway and the climate isn't too harsh.

If you plan on changing you oil every 3k, I would advise you to not use synthetic and stick with a good conventional oil like a Pennzoil or Chevron, both which you could push to 5k with no problems in a healthy car.

Oh yeah...and don't use a Fram oil filter. :D

10W30 Valvoline High Milage. I was thinking of switching to Mobil but I don't see the point paying the extra price for it...

Chevron 5W-30. I don't know enough about motor oil just yet to change it for better performance.

No kidding. I saw jugs of Mobil 1 at Wal Mart that looked like gallon size, I would assume it would cost a little less then buying quart bottles.

I use the larger UPF52 which allows for the extra 1/2 quart.

mobil 1 10w30... purely so i can go for 10k kms between oil changes (costs about the same as conventional, and protects better)

seriously, there was no other reason behind the switch, i know 10k kms is quite soon for synthetic, but w/e, beats every 5k kms

remember, kilometers here, not miles, just incase u think i'm nuts
