well, yea true, but the average joe, with enough money to fix the car right, and not pour money into this LT1 motor i have now if its not worth it kinda person
Z28SilverBullet 04-03-2005, 05:35 AM Probably better off fixing the LT1. Engines that aren't supposed to be in certain cars usually involve more than just swapping in the motor.
BLACKBIRD8200 04-03-2005, 10:43 AM if you thought your LT1 was bad. wait to till you get your NS they're junk i have heard way to many bad things about them! and good luck changing your starter on the NS.
SFB767 04-03-2005, 12:10 PM Isn't the Northstar DOHC V8 physically larger than an LT1?
I would think so due to having two cams in each head like the Ford DOHC V8, which is larger than a SBC.
If this is true, you might have less room to work in your engine bay if you go through with the transplant.

northstar is considerably larger if i recall correctly.
much much cheaper and get more power with an LS1 swap :)
or just fix your LT1

jakef2003 04-03-2005, 01:11 PM There was a member here a few years back. Turbowash IIRC. He had a black LT1 car with a Turbo Northstar on Fikse's.

Fix your current engine or replace it with another LTI (or LS1). Much easier and cost effective and achievable on a budget..
