I have a 2000 3.8L camaro. Well geezo peetzo!!! I noticed I had a problem with my car one day when I was entering the freeway. I stepped on the pedal to catch up to freeway speed. Then it seemed like my car was bogging. Like when you press the pedal all the way down, it seems like my car is just like, "Don't even try." I can compare it to when person is walking their dog...The owner walks faster but the dog pulls back because it doesn't want to go faster. I hope this paints the picture for anyone who comes across this. This is like the first problem I ever had with my car!!! HELP!!! SOMEONE!!!
I FORGOT TO ADD THAT MY CAR WON'T REV PAST 3000 RPM...maybe my mass air flow sensor?

most likely, you need a tune up, simple as that, our cars are notorious for this kind of stuff

i personally think its the plugs/wires.... me, i'm doing a tune up over a month (due to lack of time), so, if u wanna start cheap, clean ur air filter, replace the pcv valve, change the fuel filter, then do plugs and wires (which are most likely the cause of ur 'bogging'/any misfires you may be getting)

it's not an expensive fix, for all the above <<$100

It sounds like the catalytic converter went. It's clogged in there. Have a backpressure test done to be certain. You can look into a high flow cat as a replacement. If it were the plugs, you'd most likely hear it misfire and sputter at idle.

I have a 2002 3800 in mine. When I gun the gas off the line, it bogs like that , but only when you ASR is engaged. It doesnt do it if the ASR is disengaged.

ASR is Acceleration Slip Regulation. It is a traction control system that limits wheel spin on slippery road or (when you take off buy gunning the gas ) When the ASR is working<while you are slipping> it reduces engine power so you don't spin out . It also operates on dry roads like if there is dirt on the road or your tires are bald.
I don't know if you're FB has it or not . I only know that my camaro does . ;)

It can also engage if you accelrate hard on a turn or your tranny downshifts or upshifts "all of a sudden" like whe you are entering a freeway !!
Hope this helps

I've got money that it is a plug/wire going out. Sounds like a misfire.

Might as well do both plugs and wires since you have a nice weekend tuneup job ahead of you.

I posted up this problem a few days ago. The problem was my cat converter. The mechanic said it was practically falling apart inside. So crap was all clogged up. Got it replaced cuz there is some kind of warranty from the dealership for that. Got it replaced the other day. My car is back to normal...YEAH BABY!!! Thanks to those who replied to my post with ur suggestions.
