What size is pan oil drain bolt?JohnD 04-01-2005, 01:38 PM I'm going to pick up a spare oil drain plug and fit it as a return from a bypass filter but I don't know the exact size/thread to pick up. Anybody Know? Capn Pete 04-01-2005, 02:53 PM It takes a 15mm wrench/socket, if that helps at all??;) I couldn't tell ya the actual size of the bolt? shoebox 04-01-2005, 03:10 PM The threads are ½-20. Spinner 04-01-2005, 03:18 PM 14mm on LT1 cars :) MustangEater82 04-03-2005, 02:33 PM Go to a car store, they can look them up and sell them, well they were able to for my 94 3.4L. JohnD 06-21-2005, 08:44 AM Now that I finally know the answer to this question, I'll pass it on. 12mm x 1.25. As it turns out 1997 is the first year for this from the previous 1/2 x 20 and it stayed the same through 2000. shoebox 06-21-2005, 09:20 AM Now that I finally know the answer to this question, I'll pass it on. 12mm x 1.25. Looks like the change to the metric plug was made during the 1997 model year, so it could have had either one. :) JohnD 06-21-2005, 12:31 PM I like it when everybody is right! :thumb: shoebox 06-21-2005, 02:11 PM I like it when everybody is right! :thumb:  That does not happen very often. :D | ||
