I'm going to pick up a spare oil drain plug and fit it as a return from a bypass filter but I don't know the exact size/thread to pick up. Anybody Know?

It takes a 15mm wrench/socket, if that helps at all??;) I couldn't tell ya the actual size of the bolt?

Go to a car store, they can look them up and sell them, well they were able to for my 94 3.4L.

Now that I finally know the answer to this question, I'll pass it on. 12mm x 1.25. As it turns out 1997 is the first year for this from the previous 1/2 x 20 and it stayed the same through 2000.

Looks like the change to the metric plug was made during the 1997 model year, so it could have had either one. :)
