LS1 Turbo vs Lightning

No contest! I caught him at a light. He revved and it was on. I started pulling on him right off the line. By the time I got into third it was over, he was four or five back (who knows?) and I was pulling hard. I suspect he was stock. I've seen those things really move!

No idea on HP yet. I need to hit the dyno soon. I'm running a DIY rear mount with a big Holset H2D. It's a little laggy, but I'm swapping it for another turbo soon.

i got to watch a twin turbo ls1, (dude bought it from chargedair.com) or something like that, race on front street in philly pa. he lost big time to a 03 cobra with a kenne belle blower. was no contest. ls1 was running 10psi, cobra was said to have been running 21psi

Re: LS1 Turbo vs Lightning

Whoa.. 21psi? I think that is b/s. No way a cobra can handle 21psi on it's stock bottom end, or even top end for that matter

Re: LS1 Turbo vs Lightning

call it bs if you want, just going by what i was told. but i have read before that those blowers can push 29+psi. stock block!?! i doubt it. i only got to speak to the ls1 owner, no the cobra, i talked to someone second hand about the cobra. but i do know for a fact, it was a 99 ls1 with twin turbo, and i do know he had his a$$ handed to him by about 3-4 cars.

Oh i hear you on the more mods lol.. Same here i raced a 03 Cobra and it pulled on me at the track and i was pissed and my best time is a 13.01. It sucks because if an LS1 S/C'd went up against a Cobra it would be no contest.

I really dont believe it. Cobra's stock are pretty quick. NOT a whole lot faster than an LS1, but still faster. Now, you take that 320hp LS1, plant a TT on it, and BAM.. you have GOT to be making around 600 or so hp if done right.

can you quote where i said it was a stock cobra? i recall saying it had a kenne bell blower on it. some of them are putting out 600rwhp. unbeatable? not at all, jason from tsp has/had a black trans-am ls1 he worked over without a s/c or t/c and put out 700 rwhp. dont know if his 300 shot of nos is in that mix or not.

Re: LS1 Turbo vs Lightning

no big deal. but no i didnt edit the post, otherwise you'd see "edit" somewhere on it. i do agree a fi ls1 will destroy a stock cobra. hell, some on here just have heads and cam and do it.

Re: LS1 Turbo vs Lightning

^That's very true. Heck.. a Twin Turbo LS1 vs a stock Cobra? Ha.. hardly a *race*
But you said if you edited the post it would say edit, not always. Sometimes after I edit my post it doesn't say it. I think it depends on *what* you edit
