I just put a new moser 12 bolt in my car and had a few questions on breaking it in I done like the paper said go forward and backwards for 3 min and then drive it 10 miles and let it cool down for 1 hour is that it or is there more to it than that how many miles before I csn beat on it , and how many miles till i change the grease in the rearend??? Thanks for the help.

When I had my 3.73s installed I drove the car home (about 2 miles) rear will get very hot, let cool completely and then drive it about 5 miles rear will get hot but not as hot as the first trip, let cool completely. drive about 10 miles, same deal rear will get hot but not as hot as the last trip, let cool completely.
I did this progressively about 10 times.
Yes it seems anal. But I have 100k on those gears now with zero issues.
Once this is done you can beat the hell out of them. :cool:
I changed to full synthetic after breakin and change it about every 30k.

For a ring and pinion upgrade in the stock f-body housing, synthetic oil is fine, BUT Moser does not recommend the use of synethic gear oil in their 12-bolt housing.
