I plan to do this but itis going to require some tuning to make it work. My interest is to work toward the LT1 intake mod.

You can remove it, but it will set a code, unless you have your chip re-programmed to have the EGR turned off.

Air Pump that will free up some space and weight under the hood. Ditching the A/C will take it even a step further on space and weight. If thats what your looking for.

yea fl = hot...ac stays lol. But yea im just trying to clean up that jumbled mess under the hood. The engine is being pulled soon so im gunna clean everything up, repaint the compartment and scrap all the crap i dont need. So the egr and air pump...sounds good

switch to a carb..that cleans it up a bit ;) ...ac delete makes a huge difference, escpecially if you get the 1le box like i did...airpump delete also makes it alot easier to get to the plugs too...new intake i think is the biggest thing to make it look cleaner...stealth rams look awesome under the hood...

heh, yea i like fuel injection, so no carb for me. I was going to swap to a stealth ram upon reassembly. But yea the air pump and egr are deff gunna go. My a/c i believe works, but im not even sure<not charged> lol, if it doesnt..then bye bye.

whats the 1lE?

why do you wanna rip egr off..first you aint going to see much of an increase if any..secongd it shouldnt set a light off cause an egr if i recall is only an output signal and that shouldnt set off light unless you unplug the electricall conector..just remove the egr valve or just unhook it and plug the vacuum line..the comp dont know if the vacuum line is unhooked as long as its plugged..what exactly are you looking to do?make horsepower?lighten car?go fasteR?????

Yes, the computer does know if the EGR isnt working. The EGR is the only smog device the computer keeps track of. On MAF cars, there is a temp sensor in the EGR valve. When the valve opens, it will get hotter. On MAP cars, the computer checks for a change in the MAP when the EGR opens.

hmm...ok so Ill just be staring at an SES light..no big deal. I dont like my hypertech chip anyway, im gunna go to diablo tuning around here and get them to make me a custom chip, so that'll solve my SES problem

iam going to remove my egr too and was wondering if i can remove that whole setup just under the coil and just plug the vac line that goes to the tb, iam thinking that when the ecm tells the egr to open it gets its vacuum pressure from the connection at the tb once that swtich opens up under the coil? anyone help me out? thanx
