whats the widest tire for a SS wheel

i have 2000 SS wheels and i have 275/40/17 on there now but i want something a little wider like 285 or 295 just wondering if they will fit.

yes, it will fit. The tire will be sticking out past the rim a little bit. Might look kinda funny.

I've seen 315/35 stuffed on a 9" rim. A whole lotta bulge was the result. I wouldn't push it past a 285.
