That car is teh sweetness. IMO, that is the look it should have had from the beginning. Or at least the stance. I can see saving the wire-mesh grille for the V-version, but the base XLR has wheels that are just not quite wide enough. The wheel/tire package on the V-Series really makes it sit right.

Of course, it's not gonna be cheap... But way cheaper than an AMG Benz, that's for sure...

Beautiful. GM can do some really sweet cars when they're priced above $50,000.

You are correct, AFS is a sweet technology. And the XLR-V is only the first of many to have it. Someone could say it will be a "design theme"."

The 6L80E debuted with the STS-V. The XLR-v is the second one to get it. Also the 6 speed autos will be avilable in a variety of torque specs. We will probably have like 5 different versions soon from 6L40E to a 6L90E.

Awesome.. I hope they don't require any wierd electronics signals/controllers.. cause it would be nice if a few years down the road, if we can swap out the 4L's in our cars and trucks with the 6L's without much fuss.

Nothing new is being developed that doesn't get run by a computer. However, there will probably be stand alone tranny controllers for sale by GM or aftermarket vendors.

Yup, I'm sure one way or another it could be made to actually drive, but I'm hoping for example, in the end, to be able to throw a 6L in my Avanche to replace the 4L60e without setting off any OBDII codes, so the Truck can still pass OBDII inspections when it comes time to renew registration.

The look of it makes me think that cadillac needs a performance coupe.
