Just got some chrome Z06 off ebay for $689.00 shipped. That's awesome since the local dealers were wanting around $1000.00 Now i need to order some tires. What do you recommend?? I have read numerous reviews of tires on websites, but how many have actually bought the tire they didn't like just because they favor another brand. I take it with a grain of salt. Anyway,a friend of mine in FL runs Avon tech m550 a/s and he says that they are great, anyone have these? They need to be an all season tire with good treadware, stability, etc. The local tire shop recommends Falken Ziex ZE-512. All opinions appreciated.

For some good wet weather traction, try the michilin pilots. They are nice tires. They also come with a heavy price tag. When I bought mine, they were about $385 each. They lasted for a long time. Now I have BF Goodrich Comp TA's which are a better dry traction tire with more treadwear. Here pretty soon I will get two more Comp TA's for the front and some MT ET Street Drag Radials for the back. I have the regular ET Streets for the track

Since you got such a good deal on the wheels, you should be able to put a little better tire on there, such as the Goodyear GS-D3's or something else in that catagory.

I've got Michelin Pilot Sports on one of my cars and absolutely love them. Pricey, yes, but probably worth the extra dough. They also have a Pilot Sport A/S (all season) that I haven't tried, but is supposed to be just about as good as the regular, though I imagine dry grip must be sacrificed somewhat. I'm contemplating replacing my Pilot Sports (when they wear out) with the A/S variety, so I'd know more after that.
I've got BFG KDW g-Force on my Z28, and they aren't too bad. Much cheaper than the Michelins, but not too bad. Good tire at a decent price. A bit less grip than the Pilot Sport, but still an aggressive tire. Probably couldn't go wrong buying some of these.
I'm thinking about maybe getting the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 to replace the BFGs when they're toast. About the same price of the KDW but supposedly performs like the Pilot Sport. Sounds too good to be true, but I might give them a try anyway.
I know a lot of people gush over the Firestone SZ50, but I don't have any experience with Firestones.

I've narrowed it down to 3 tires.. (1)Avon Tech M550 A/S (2) Pirelli PZero Nero M&S and (3) Kumho ASX.
the asx wil probably be the best choice for a/s performance that you are looking for at a great price. I think they are actually rated to last longer than the pirelli. my friend got about 13k out of his pzeros on his GTI

Yeah. I'm kind of leaning that way. They have a 420 tread rating compared to 360 and 400 for the others. I want them to last awhile,I have put around 45,000 miles on my firehawks that I have on now. :D The local Sears has them in stock or I may get them online. Have to see who is cheaper. I like the idea that if I get them local and something happens, off to the store I go. ;)
