sunday was designated do brakes in t/a day. should only take a couple of hours to clean and paint calipers, replace pads and rotors, right! The backs were done in record time...The fronts; I can get the pistons over the new pads but the caliper will not clear the brackets on the were the bolts go by a little more than 1/8 inch. the pads are hawk hb249f.575 rotors are powerslot calipers are stock. I dont get why they wont clear, I am stranded.

Those "brackets" are actually slider pins or guide pins.

They should easily push in by hand. If they don't they are siezed and you need to pull them out, clean and re-grease them.

well, i find that most calipers rarely slip in by hand. most need a good dead blow mallet or some kind of plastic hammer to set them into place. to help line up the pins in the holes, set the pins over where you think the holes are. then tap the head of the pins with a hammer. if seated on the hole, it should practically start it for you so u just have to start wrenching.

The pins are definatly froze, I tried to push them in and spin them. How do I go about getting them out?
