Thump/thud noise from front, new spring/shocks

Hello,

I've recently had the front/rear shock & springs replaced.

After ~200 miles or so, the passenger side has developed a thud/thumping noise when hitting larger bumps in the road. Seems mostly towards the front.

My mechanic suspects its the front strut mount, as he had to air chizzel to get the old shock removed.

Nothing else was done to the car.

What do you folks think?

Can the car be driven, or is it best to have this part replaced first...?

Is it advisable to replace the mount with an OEM part or aftermarket?

Anyone have the part # for the passenger side?

THANKS!!

Did you check all your monting hardware?
Man I miss my GPZ1100. That was a great bike. A bit heavy.

I didn't do the actual installation.

What hardware are you suspecting?

About the bike.. It's a great bike.. Had it since '96, has over 60Kmiles on it now (Actually, more than the car!!).

Heavy, hard to turn in, a cow. All are true. But still a somewhat comfy ride.

The bolts on the top and bottom of the shock and the mounts for the spring. I would take the tire off and check the whole shock and spring.

I really miss my cow. Had mine set up mean and nasty. That **** was fast. Had a top speed of 196 mph. Had a lot of money in that bike. Then it got stollen.

Turned out to be a bad upper shock mount on the passenger side.

I wasn't doing the work :)

The tech drilled out the old mount to get the shock off.. Should of just replaced it then. He figured he'd save me some $$$ by reusing it (pass side was fine). In the week I had the car, the hole was elongated quite a bit.
