4/3/05: Dad's LS1 vs. my Stang

Alright guys, it's going to happen on Sunday, 4/3. I will post results after the race Sunday or Monday. Both cars in my sig. We will be running at a slippery 1/4 mile grudge racing track. He will probably have 87 octane in the tank and no weight reduction. I might throw on a little blue bottle in the mean time. Wish me luck, or wish him luck.

I probably won't get a bottle, by then. Hey, 4.6 vs. 5.7 liters. If I win or tie w/o the bottle, I will be happy.

Flowmaster 2 chamber.

I know. It's just lame how Ford put in the 4.6 instead of the 5.4 or 6.8 into the GTs. They should have gone with a 5.4 2-valve minimum.

That other guy told me not to get a bottle and be a man. I could get a 125 shot and tell the poor little LS1 to run what he brung.

Ewww 87 octane? Why is he neglecting the car? He'd pay what, $2 more if he filled with 93?

Probably doing whatever he can to give his son the edge to win, if he comes here and crys how "lame" his 4.6 is, and how they should have put this and that engine in instead could you imagine the whining in person. He posted this almost exact same post last week and everyone basically set it str8 to him, guess things died down and he had to stir the pot again. Im sure he was aware of what the car was capable of before buying it. Theres nothing wrong w/ the 4.6...dohc's have no problems getting into the 12's w/ minimal mods. His poor choice of mods isnt helping his cause either. I just dont get this kid

It's not neglecting it, just losing power. LS1s and LT1s have knock sensors that cut back the timing with poor fuel. We are at 4000+ feet elevation so less octane is needed up here. He ran 87 octane in his LT1s for years and never had problems. We only get 91 octane at best.

How do you figure you don't need to run higher octane fuel b/c of the altitude?

Antz do you ever post anything positive? Half of everything you write seems to be you picking a fight. Steve's right, the 5.4 would have been a sweet engine for ford to have put in the mustang. Oh and I seriously doubt his Dad goes to the gas pump and thinks to himself "gee, how can I give my son an edge to win ... oh I know, i'll put 87 octane so the computer will pull the timing!!"
