I am installing the HAL shocks and the HAL 300lb springs, and have a question on the lower spring seats. I printed out Injuneer's install guide and it says "if you want to use anything other than the HAL drag springs you need to modify the factory lower spring seats." It says "drag springs", does this refer to any of the HAL springs or just a specific one like the "R"? If this refers to all the HAL springs, does that mean that I dont use the factory lower seats at all?

You don't use the factory lower spring seat with the Hal springs.

OK, thanks. It would sure be nice if they included some instructions with these.

Another helpful tip is to lubricate the metal washer that sits on the adjuster nut/ring with antiseize grease. This will make it much easier to adjust ride height once the spring is compressed. Some guys even install a bearing in his location; the grease worked fine for me.

thats a good idea.
So the spring sits on the washer directly on the large adjusting nut right? Then the thinner nut/ring is just a stop nut under the adjuster ring??

One more question... Which way do the springs go on? Does the "flat" coil end go down on the adjuster? That seems to make more sense, but the other end is a narrower diameter that seems like it would fit the adjuster ring a little better.
I dont have the old spring/shock assembly apart yet, maybe once I have it apart it would be obvious which end fits the top bracket, but I just wanted to know ahead of time. I will be taking it to a shop to have the springs compressed , so I want know exactly how all the parts go together because I am sure the shop wont know since these arent stock parts. They would just give me the ole "Ive never seen these before"
thanks

Well, like I thought, once I got the old ones apart it was obvious which end goes where.
