I have had trouble using Windows XP when flashing my computer but Datamaster reads fine. Kept getting "incorrect message sent" error. I finally used a computer with windows 98 and it worked fine. Just FYI and wanted to know if anybody else has had this problem. :)

If you have other programs running in the backround, it will really hose up the works and give you the incorrect message sent errors while reading or programming. I just use a stripped down win98 on my laptop for programming.

I had an old Dell lappy that was that way but found a reasonably priced IBM 600E and its working great. Tried multiple OS systems on the dell with no luck and right now the IBM is running XP just fine.

Do you have SP2 on your laptop w/ Windows XP? I heard that if you downloaded Microsoft Server Pack 2 it will have problems. I am having a problem with the cable I bought, its from AKM w/ a USB adaptor. However, I just posted this in another thread, I searched this site and I heard a Belkin F5U103 adaptor will fix that problem. I hope it's that and not the SP2, becuase I downloaded that and you can't get rid of it very easy.
