Need VIN from a wrecked or salvage 98+ Camaro

No, nothing shady here guys.

I bought a 99 Camaro with a hit front clip. No frame damage or anything like that, but the car was totaled as the previous owner had cheapy insurance.

In Tennessee, in order to re-title a car you have to:

1. Provide before repair shots of all 4 sides
2. Provide all correct paperwork and have it certified
3. Provide receipts with the new owners name for NEW parts
4. Provide a receipt with a VIN for all used parts

Now all I needed was a nose, hood, front left fender and airbags. All of which I have. I have receipts for everything but the nose, as the nose oddly enough was a cool decoration on my garage wall. As the nose isn't new, I need a receipt for it, and VIN to write down for it.

I need a VIN from a junked car, or one with a salvaged title, even if either has a cruddy nose. There's no way I can track down the people I got my original nose from, and money is tight enough without having to buy the same part tiwice.. ( in a way )

I'll give whoever 25$ for a valid VIN. I will run a check on the VIN, and if it confirms as a DOA VIN from a junked car, then a MO is on it's way. I'd give more, but I just can't.

Mods, if you have to close this, I understand. This is the only way other than buying another nose I don't need, to get my car titled. It's sitting there all fixed, and with no recert. But if you feel this thread to "odd" then as I said, go ahead and do what you have too.

Thanks,
Bone

do they actually contact the people who you bought the parts from?
If not, then try ebay, just a real quick search turned up:

I can get you a dead Vin from any number of cars when I go to the yard friday. No charge. Just email me at Halbertperformance@team.camaroz28.com to remind me if nothing works out for ya.

No, and to tell you the truth.. I don't even think they pay much attention to the receipts anyway. It's just another way for them to get revenue from TN taxpayers. I'm positive they look for the VIN, but don't run any kind of check.

Even if they did, it would come up as a junker and the "E-bay" writing on the receipt would seal the deal.

Thanks for the VIN, I didn't even think of actually searching e-bay.

Thanks man, I really appreciate this. I'll email you on Friday. That should give me more than enough time to research Blue's. It's always good to have multiple options.
