I was wondering what the TPI bolt on record is, and what they had to do to get it.

Who cares what the bolt on record is for any car? Everybody doesn't have access to the internet, and even if they did, they probably would'nt post it on here because they don't know these boards exist.

Guys were racing way before the internet was ready for posting.

The fastest guys with any car would be the super stockers anyway, they have to use mostly stock specs to go fast. That is where you will find your bolt-on record.

Just worry about how fast your car is.

I would hardly call cars with larger duration (stock lift), valve jobs/backcut valves, higher compression, etc. to be bolt-on cars. But hey, that's just me. :)

yeah you cant change things like heads or a cam for a bolt on record. And if you think about it, a super stock car is probably going to run a carb, not TPI. And even though people arent going to post it on here, if its a bolt on RECORD, someone probably has it RECORDED somewhere, dont you think? I just wondered how fast someone had taken a TPI car. So if you want to be a dick go somewhere else.

The super stockers must use a factory intake, tpi included.

Why don't you try doing a search. Not everyone is on this board so it won't be your perfect list, but it might make you happy.

I believe you guys are actually talking about stock eliminator cars, not super stockers.

yeah im pretty sure your thinking of stock eliminators too.

I just wanted some kind of idea of how fast you could take a basically stock TPI

A friend on mine has a 91 Z28 350 TPI A4. With 3.73 gears, air filter removed, bumped timing to 12 degrees, SLP runners, and a flowmaster muffler the car went 13.56@101.6mph with a 1.97 60ft on radials. This was a full weight car(3635 raceweight) with dual cats, stock exhaust manifolds, and AC with stock heavy 16" wheels and 245 50 16 BFG comp TA regular radials. The car spun a rod bearing before he got to mod it more but I am willing to bet a stripped out (like most LS1/LT1 bolt on racecars) 3200 raceweight TPI 350 with headers, converter, no cats, a ported upper with 52-58mm tb, 1.6 rockers, and a little tuning could get you and easy 12.5-12.7@107-108 bolt on TPI car. Heads cam TPI cars would dip into the 11's but that would prob be the limit for a modded TPI intake on an NA application. I think it would be fun to do a bolt on 350 tpi car....I know my friends surprised/ pissed off a lot of people thinking that all 3rd gens are slow. Also, another friend of mine hada fully loaded 305tpi 5 speed 1991 TA with just a flowmaster and a chip went 14.2 @97 with a 2.1 60ft. So the TPi cars do have good potential.
