What glue to use?

The outter door skin on my 94 Formula has come loose from the top(door handle end) about 8 inches down.
What do I use to bond it back to the rest of the door so it doesn't come apart again?

The skin itself? Metal? I use JB Weld on a lot of stuff. An epoxy Putty that hardens ROCK hard, find it at NAPA or other ato parts chain. For metal I'd advise welding it but you'd have to get it repainted. I'm still unsure what you are refering to. The outer 16-20ga thick metal sheet that covers the outside of the door? Where exactly did it come apart? Near the "fold over" on the edge?

No it's fiberglass doors. The outter skin in bonded to the door houseing.
Its the pass side door, from the rubber weather stripping that rides against the glass down about 8 inches, it's the end of the door that swings out not the end the hindges are attached to.

I was told Gorilla Glue but i've never used it. I have seen some stuff in Corvette catalogs made to bond fiberglass but it's like $50+ for a quart and I don't need nearly that much.

Re: What glue to use?

Go to the store and get the strongest epoxy you can find. Coat all around the paint around the break with vaseline (DO THIS) Make a generous bead down the break, and take some C-clamps and clamp it in two or three spots. The epoxy will ooze out, wipe off any excess, the vaseline will keep it off your paint. Let dry, wipe off vaseline, your good to go.

Ditto, I used Epoxy (didn't use the Vaseline on the paint though) and channel locks (over shop rags) to apply the pressure. It's been 3 years and it's still stickin'!!!

A body shop can tell you what to use.

Ditto, My friend is a body man and they have a glue thats so strong they even bond qtr panels and other body panels on with it. He refers to it as bonding. He bonded some of my trunk floor in to my 69 Mach because it makes a water tight seal and he didn't want the extra heat from the welding to warp any of the qtr panel. Its been fine for over 4 year.

Re: What glue to use?

My door has the same problem. It looks like the seam between the outer door and the inner door panel. Not the plastic one with the fabric but the panel that it is attatched to and the outer part of the door. I called it a door seam.
I can e-mail pics if desired. Its still not fixed. Looks like the previous owner tried gorrila glue and that just came off in chunks.
