Question Camaro paint question. Help me identify color?

I saw a Camaro yesterday and fell in love with the blue paint color. I'm trying to track down the color but have no idea what year the car was. It was a newer style Z28 (within the last few years.)

I tried poking about in the member rides section to see if I could find it but there's SOOOO many cars to go through and I don't even know which year I'm looking for.

Can someone point me to a list of paint colors and codes for Camaro Z28's for the last few years?

eg:

2001:
Fancy blue pearl, #873624
Spiffy blue metallic, #923741

2000:
Fancy blue pearl, #873624
In the face blue metallic, #873648

Only two blues that I know of have been used in the last 5 years......

"Bright Blue Metallic" started in 99, "Navy Blue Metallic" started in 98. Sorry, I don't know the paint codes.

Here's a pic of the bright blue:

Here's a pic of the navy:

I about guarantee you it was Navy Blue Metallic. It doesn't sound like much, but it looks REALLY good. I don't have exactly what you're asking for but hopefully these links will help:

Here's a pic of it (pics don't do it justice though)

I believe the only blue colors in recent years (98+) were Navy Blue Metallic, Mystic Teal Metallic (blue and green color shifting paint) and a light blue. It was kind of a sky blue. I think it's called Light Blue Metallic. Not sure though.

Oh yeah, that's right. It was Bright Blue Metallic. That was a 99 only color btw.

Hmm neither of those look like it. Might just be the lighting/exposure etc. of the pic. or my monitor settings(?)

Maybe it was a custom color? Didn't look like the owner was into modifiying his vehicle at all. Looked totally stock to me so I doubt he'd have gotten a new color.

Are there different colors available on the Z28's in Canada as opposed to the States? That sometimes happens.

If I had to describe it I'd say it looks like a darker version of Subaru WRX blue, or a lighter version of Honda Accord Blue.

This color looks a little bit like this when the sun was on it, but generally darker.

It was dark but not so dark that it looked black like the navy blue there. And when the sunlight hit it, it was quite bright. In the shade it looked almost a little purpleish.

Maybe it was the Navy blue. So is that still a current color that I'd be able to see if I went to a dealership?

Navy blue metallic is what you'd see on the lot currently if you were to find one... that color has been used from 98-2002. NBM has a lot of the qualities you describe, and is a color best seen in person. It does not photograph well, as the shadows make the car look darker. It does tend to look purple-ish around dusk, but in the sunlight it is an extremely rich blue.

However, maybe you did see a custom color... could have been a rebuilt wreck or an insurance claim repaint.

But, just to be sure and cover all the bases... Here's a blue they used on the early 4th gens.... "Medium Quasar Blue"

Yeah I guess it is Navy blue metallic. Color looks so much darker in photos.

So far this is the pic that looks closest to what I remember seeing.

http://images.cardomain.com/installs...37_23_full.jpg

When I saw the Camaro the other day I had just parked next to it and as I walked away from my car and looked back at it, I noticed how the colors were close to the same, but the Camaro's looked a bit brighter. (I drive a blue 01 Accord Coupe)

But in photos, my car never looks so dark/black/purpley. It's weird.
I guess Navy Blue Metallic Camaros just really don't photograph well?
