Carb Recommendation

Ok guys I am getting down to crunch time on my engine build. I am looking into trading my 750cfm Mechanical Secondary Speed Demon in on something better tailored to my next setup. It worked great on the 350HO but I think it might be a bit small for what is to come. Here is what I wound up with:

377ci (standard bore 383)
11.8:1 compression
Dart Race Series 220cc Heads (ported, flow 310/210 @.700)
Solid Roller Camshaft (262/266@.050, .676/.625 lift, 106*LSA)
Super Victor Single Plane Intake

I would like to stick with a 4150 flange. Currently I have a 750cfm Speed Demon mechanical secondary carb. I plan on shifting this motor up around 7000-7200rpm.

What do you guys think I should look at for a carb? I have a friend who can get me an awesome deal on a Holley 950HP, not sure if a 950 would be overkill. Lets hear what you guys think.

If you're seriously looking at the HP line, then that gives me some idea of your budget. If I were in your shoes I'd give Pro Systems a call and have them build you one of their pro series 4150's custom calibrated to your application.

This carb will absolutely rock and I'm speaking from 1st hand experience here. If you want something flashy, then the Demon carbs are real nice to look at and they perform well but there's no replacement for custom tailored carbs.

Someone that's real good at what they do and can take care of customers on a personal level is a hard thing to find these days and Patrick is one of the best. I wouldn't be surprised if they recommend one of their 950-1000 cfm carbs. Prices start at around $600 and you should get the carb you need for close to the price of that 950 cfm HP carb you've been looking at and alot less than any Mighty Demon.

Awsome work. If it's good enough for NASCAR, then I suppose it's good enough for me :) If your anywhere near South Eastern Illinois, you should give them a call. Nothing like a dyno tuned carb setup :)

I'll second this info...I was amazed at the quality of product that followed the service which was second to none.

I am in the market for a carb right now also, and from what I have found, Prosystems is the way to go. I am 99% sure I will be buying my carb from there.
