My dads car 2001 camaro ss has a faulty catylitic convertor. error code p0430. I have convinced him to buy a full exhaust system. I am not really sure of which is a good company to go with for headers and a y pipe with cats. he is willing to spend 700-850. I will be doing the install. durability and longevity is a must. does anybody have any good suggestions on what i should get for him?
The car bone stock.
thanks,
Tony

With that price range it rules out FLP LT's. Try to find some LT's. Look in the for sale section and aslo on LS1tech.com . I spent right at $2000 on my exhaust (headers and catback). I can take out the cats and replace them with a pipe till inspection time and drop the cats back in for a day.

that price range is gonna make it tough.

does that budget include the catback as well? cause that's gonna run you a minimum of $300 or so for a cheap exhaust.

i'd suggest looking iinto Flowtech or Pacesetter LTs.

do you need to keep cats? cause there is almost no way to do headers/cats/exhaust with $800

With the price range of 700-850, there's really only a couple complete headers kits that fall in that category, 1st thing is you definitely want to go long tubes. MAC's or PaceSetters, I know alot of people are happy with these. However if your really interested in a quality coat that will look good and last you will need 850-950 for Jet Hot Headers or Hookers. But, almost all 1 3/4" Long tubes will give you about the same horse power output, +-5hp.

Man for the money I would go with KOOKS the are the best out there. They are not a sponsor on here but they are on ls1tech.

The Jet-Hot headers and catted y-pipe will run you about $925.00 shipped. the catted y also comes with the ability to remove the cats.

Jet-Hot doesn't make a catted y-pipe for the LT1. Sorry.

Jet-Hots and a Jet-Hot coated Hooker y-pipe for the LT1 $765.00 shipped

I bought the replacement Hooker muffler to save some money on the cat back. $70 instead of what $250?
