Question NX Wet Kit questions

I just installed a universal wet kit on my supercharged bonneville and have a few questions. Everything seems to be working right, solenoids clicking, nitrous and fuel both coming out of the nozzle. I'm only running a 35 shot.
When I have the bottle closed and I hit the nitrous, and only fuel comes out.. it drips out. Does this mix while nitrous is sprayed too? Or should it be misting out of the nozzle on its own. (Is this what causes puddling?)
This may be out of some of your guys' realm being that its supercharged, but I'll ask anyway. When I hit the gas in the car I get a noticeable increase in power, but it also pings a LOT when I hit it and I have to let off right away. It doesn't ping when I'm WOT and not spraying, only when I am. I'm running 93 octane with colder plugs gapped at .050" (stock is .060"). I'm just wondering if the engine isn't getting the fuel it needs and thats what's causing the pinging? Any help is appreciated. Sorry for the long post.

Re: NX Wet Kit questions

It sounds like you have low fuel pressure. Where are you tapping from? It should have a healthy spray.

not to sound like an ***,but did you pull the schrader valve out if the test port your refering too?you should have a nice spray...if your hearing it "ping"as you say, then stop using it...thats detonation, you will end up blowing the motoer....fix the fuel problem and youll be straight

yeah i did pull the shrader valve.. I remembered it at the last minute while i was checking my connections. And I'm not using it right now until I can figure out whats causing the pinging. I'm going to try running some colder plugs and higher octane gas and try again.

Well I've never run a 35 shot, but something's not right if it's "dripping" out. Your fuel pressure should be up around 40psi, that should be a pretty strong spray. It won't be a "mist" but 40psi should be a pretty good squirt!

Nitrous + no fuel will get you running lean, which can certainly be why you're getting ping...

Re: NX Wet Kit questions

the nitrous that comes out, comes out in a pretty good spray, just the fuel makes me wonder when it drips out of the nozzle when its not accompied by nitrous at the same time. Does the fuel mix with the spray when I'm running the two combined or are they still separate when they come out of the shark nozzle?

Re: NX Wet Kit questions

That's what I'm saying - even with no nitrous flowing, 40psi of fuel should be a nice squirt, not a "drip" - so I think you're not really getting the fuel through there that you expect. I'd check the pressure, jet fitting, etc, and figure out if something's wrong with the fuel system.

As to what it should be when the nitrous is also flowing, yes, the nitrous at 1000psi should mix nicely with the fuel and cause a spray to come out the nozzle.

Alright, thanks for the help. I'll check out the fuel pressure this week.

You need to check you fuel jet. Sounds like a piece of trash is stuck in the jet. It should be a good small stream out on the nozzle.

Re: NX Wet Kit questions

Figured it out, the fuel pressure test port had a small leak where it connected to the fuel rail. Thanks for the help.
