Foose spotted down at Autorama

I seen him setting up the car yesterday. It was kinda funny to see him after seeeing him on Overhaulin and Rides. The rig and trailer he had in cobo had to be close to 300 or 400K. I wanted say hi but he was busy with the car and I didnt wanna interrupt.I hope he walks around this weekend, I would love him to sign one of my strut towers:)

I know he's competing with a riddler entry but what kinda of car is it?

The car is based on a 36 ford roadster. I believe all the body panels are hand made. The car looks great. The car cost arond $600,000 to build. The car was supposed to be here last year but was not finished in time.

I was there from 11am-2pm and I spotted Foose too. Some fellow classmates talked to him too.


We were in the far right corner near the entrance, I came down with Roseville High School Autoshop to set up our 41 willys and 70 El Camino. It looks to be an awesome show. I don't know if Foose's car will win though, I was very impressed with some other entries.


Our Willly's is across from a super-stock Red LS1 F-body by the way . . . it was a nice car.

my set up day was yesterday. I have a 2000 camaro SS with house of kolor kandy flames. i am about in the middle but on an end so i got a good spot. stop by and say hello tomorow if you want.

I heard that Foose hired the body man/ paintman from the boyd coddington show to finish this car.

The painter (Charlie) that worked for Boyd is now working for Foose. He will be down at the show today.

1.2 is what it cost. got to hang out with him for a little while thursday when he was bringing it in. met the crew and the owner. definately a very nice guy to meet. wish i had been able to go up friday to run in to courtney.

I ran into Courtney, Chip, and Troy on the people mover. I was so awe struck i couldn't say anything except "I hate to bether you, but can i get a quick picture?" They were cool about it and i got it on my cell phone. Afterwards I realized I should have gotten in the pic too :(

I was supposed to go last night, but plans fell through, i might blow outta work early today to head up there, since it's award day and all i figured everybody should be in attendance, at least towards the end of the show....Picture op? WTF??

It was on the episode of American Hot Rod where Charlie left. He told Boyd that he didnt want to quit, but this was an opprutunity of a lifetime to work on a Riddler car. He wanted to come back and work for Boyd when he was done with the car that Foose was building, and Boyd flipped out and told him to f*ck off essentially.

For anyone that wasnt able to make it to the show, I have a directory full of Autorama pictures (http://www.djcobol.com/autorama/), including the 36 Coupe that Foose worked on. Full size 1600x1200 pics available on request. I never saw Foose or Courtney or any of them, but I did run into Joe Gibbs while taking pictures of Foose's car. Cool guy. :cool:

Did anyone notice that the paint sceme was the same as his last riddler winner? There were some other custom guys that were cool to see like George Barris and Bill Hines. Steven

Well, Charlie, Beetle, and i saw one other guy from Boyd's shop that are now employed by Foose from what it looked like, i got to meet and talk with Charlie/Chip/Chip's dad, and got their autographs on a Autorama poster, and took pics with Charlie/Chip, and Chris from overhaulin was wandering around, so i got a pic with him. TLC's Rides was there, so i might be on TV. I will say this, The Foose crew was awesome, they signed autos and took pictures for as long as they had a crowd there, congrats on the Riddler award fella's and for being stand up guys to boot.

Yea I saw the guy Chris from overhaulin' as well spoke to 'em as all the cars started to leave. He's a cool dude just happen to have a nice cold one in his hand as well.

Yeah, i too noticed he ws enjoying a frosty adult beverage while admiring Detroit's finest. I must say, i saw both some very attractive booth models, and some of the skankiest women in Detroit, not to say that given the chance, i wouldn't lay it down right....hehe, i just wouldn't brag about it.

It turned out to be a great weekend. I ended up with 2nd place in my class at the show. I saw Foose standing up front by the car he built and there was a few hundred people around him. I saw him talking to everyone and signing autographs and taking pics. I went up there and asked him if he could come sign my car since i have his wheels and he said he would be right over. I couldnt believe it so i went back to my car and waited. I was there for like a half hour and started to think he blew me off. All of a sudden my girlfriend starts freakin out and I see Foose walkin towards us. He was so nice and took like 3 or 4 pics with the car and me. He signed my dash and a shirt for me. I will post some pics whn i get them.

Congratulations allen, i saw the car, it looks a helluva lot different from the last time i saw it, where did foose sign it, the car is black, and i know he only had a black marker on him, did he sign some of the flames?

Thanks about the car, I been working on it for a while. I had a silver paint marker and he signed it on the dash on the passenger side air bag.

That's awesome, your car was beautiful! I took many pictures of it. :D
