Any one know good aftermarket auto Trans?BadCamaro 03-02-2005, 05:27 AM I want to buy aftermarket Trans because I waist money on fixing stock Trans. I want one for daily driver and street racing. 1SlowFormula 03-02-2005, 08:34 AM There are a few out there, when I did my searching the best on I found is in my sig! :D 12SCNDZ 03-02-2005, 07:48 PM We don't neccessarilly build an "aftermarket" transmission. We use what GM gives us to work with and modify and improve on it. A properly built 4L60E can be built to take quite a bit of abuse. We've got them in cars running 11.0 @ 124 MPH, on 175 shot of NX. Frank CPT chris718 03-02-2005, 10:28 PM www.ckperformance.com look at the website and youll quickly find out that we are serious about automatic transmissons.let us know how we can help.the originators of the 2.66 first gear 700r4/4l60e :) BadCo. 03-03-2005, 03:54 PM Don't take it to "Billy Bobs Transmission Repair" lol ...get a solid rebuilt one like I am gonna do if mine goes, when it goes, whatever...there are guys right here on this forum that won't steer you wrong , that will stand behind their product and work, and know what they are talking about...I have read enough to have put my mind at ease about the 4L60E in my car and I know that the 4L60E can be a great transmission if you throw a few bucks at it. 94Zpower 03-03-2005, 04:16 PM Go for the CPT Race build you wont be sorry, thats what I got . Projectz28 03-03-2005, 06:15 PM I just had mine built by Frank at CPT. Actually since I live so close, Frank was kind enough to invite me down to his shop to help him build mine. I have to say that I was really impressed at the knowledge Frank has of the 4L60E. He pointed out several weak areas and showed me side by side comparison of various parts and components that will make a 4L60E hold up the the abuse I am going to throw at it this year. I could sit here for hours and tell you about the new sun shell, differences in bushings, pump spring, valve body springs, billet servos's, placement of checkballs, seperator plate modifications, the importance of proper clearance in the different clutch packs, different clutch materials, and on and on and on... But I even saw how import it is on chosing the proper seals and O rings... Frank is on the ball when it comes to a 4L60E. I would highly recommend him. BTW, Frank I just heard from Yank and my converter will be here this week. No problems found with the stator splines. Infact all they did was clean it, restall it, and send it back. Everything else was in good shape. I'll have it running sometime next week I hope. 94 TA TT2S 03-08-2005, 07:57 PM Brian what did it cost you to get a restall from Yank...What did you have it restalled to???...And Frank....What is the norm for a hard parts that are ussually needed on one of your race tranny's????? Loadre 03-08-2005, 08:39 PM http://www.pro-built.net is also another excellent option. Projectz28 03-08-2005, 08:47 PM Brian what did it cost you to get a restall from Yank...What did you have it restalled to???... Im actually still waiting to get it back. It should be here tomorrow. $285 to restall from 3500 to 4000. All internals are replaced on a restall so its basically like a new converter. 94 TA TT2S 03-08-2005, 10:20 PM Are you changing or have you changed your setup???? And how in the heck are you getting those 60's???? Projectz28 03-09-2005, 04:54 PM I am in the middle of changing my set up now. But really all I have done is dump weight and move some weight. CPT trans and bumped the converter to 4000. The suspension is still the same. Only aftermarket parts are CE rear shocks and Spohn LCA's. 12SCNDZ 03-09-2005, 05:36 PM Frank....What is the norm for a hard parts that are ussually needed on one of your race tranny's????? All the normal performance upgrades are included in my base "race rebuild" price. Hardparts are parts not normally replaced in a rebuild...IE sprag race, drum, planetary, etc. There's a good possibility you may not need any hard parts, but we don't know for sure until we get it apart. Our "ceiling" on 4L60E's is $250 MAX for hard parts. Frank CPT 94 TA TT2S 03-09-2005, 09:35 PM Well I have "the beast" and some other thing done in my last rebuild....and a Trans Go which from what I have read from you you will more than likely ditch which is fine....I will be sending a tranny your way here in the future just wanted to get the low down....And what is the shipping cost for a tranny these days? | ||
