I was wondering if your reaction time effects how fast you run??

nope not at all you can sit there for 3days after the light turns green as long as you do not break the staging beam your timing clock will not activate!

HOWEVER, your reaction time is CRITICAL if you plan to bracket race;). Well, it's important in ALL forms of racing really (heads up as well as bracket). But in terms of doing time trials to figure out how fast your car can run, NO, the reaction time is NOT a part of your 1/4 mile E/T:cool:. Some people have tried to argue this.....they're wrong:rolleyes:.

They are exactly right. Some times if I am paired with one of those classic big blocks that are louder at idle than my is at wot, i will just sit at the line for a couple of extra seconds to let him get going. A lot of times I am doing time trials for tuning and not just out there racing.

However, where you stage effects both. The difference beween shallow staging and deep staging is about .1 on both. If you usually shallow stage and then deside to deep stage, your RT will be .1 faster and your ET will slow by .1 over the shallow stage results. Example: on a shallow stage RT of 1.20 and ET of 14.77 going deep will result in an RT of .020 and ET 14.87.
