How many speakers in a Monsson system?

For some reason I keep thinking that in some 97 and up trans am there was a 12 speaker system but all I see are 10 speakers. Was there a 12 speaker monsoon system in any f-body?

10? My 02's monsoon claims to have 8, but i can only find 6. I assume the other two are in the ceiling?

Depending on your car (camaro / trans am). Camaro has 8, trans am has 10.

in the camaro, there are like coaxials in the front. Making 4 speakers up front.
trans am has the components in front.

GM considers each individual driver as a speaker. A T/A has 4 woofers, 4 tweeters and 2- 4" mids for a total of "10" speakers. Camaros don't have the rear set of tweeters like the T/A so they only have "8" speakers.

So there is no f-body w/ 12 speakers? Like I said before, I had looked at a 97 Comp T/A and I know the guy was telling me it had 12 speakers.
