Washing my Z
Washing my Z
Last weekend I got my first order of Zaino. So far I have applied 3 coats (Z5,Z5,Z2) and all I can say is WOW!. I have never seen a shine like that! Ive used every product in the book for years and Zaino blows them all away. Anyways my baby is starting to get a little dusty and this weekend I was planning on putting another 3 coats on in the same way. My problem is this, I didnt order the Zaino car wash, I think its the Z7. So what would be a alternative safe carwash to use before I apply more zaino?
Good job with the Zaino!! It is a very unique product and very addicitng too!
Anyhow, you really should have ordered the Z7 too. The Z7 soap is probably my favorite Z product, besides the polishes. It really helps enhance the Z shine and cleans well too. But, for a local wash, my vote goes to DuraGloss car shampoo. I like it better than almost anything I've used locally, like Meguiar's, Mother's, Eagle1, etc... Leaves an incredible gloss by itself and feels pretty slippery. I got mine at CarQuest for $3 per bottle! Can't beat the price for the performance. My previous favorite was Meguiar's Gold Class wash or Eagle1 wash for local stuff.
The DG soap is dark red and smells like cherries. I would almost drink it, if it wasn't soap....

At the bottom of the page is a list of stores that carry the DG line. I've only seen it at CarQuest around here, so maybe it's not heavily distributed.

Anyhow, if you can't find this, I'd go back to my old favorite, Meguiar's soaps, like GoldClass, for local stuff, maybe Eagle1....
Kevin,
If you've never tried the DG soap, I'd recommend it, especially for the price. If I remember correctly, the bottle is 16oz too, not too bad for $3. Makes a great standby soap if Zaino isn't available or you don't want to use the valuable Z supply on other cars....
Also seems to work well with carnauba products....
