gauge lights

im tring to figure out why my gauge lights dont come on or my fog lights dont come on either. just got done ripping apart the dash and chopping it in half, im getting ready for my vfn fiberglass dash. so i have all of my hvac stuff out and gone, passenger side air bag, air bag stuf in the middle of the console, actually the center console is not plugged in at all. I do have 2 wires that have been cut. 1 wire being a brown and black i believe that has a red connecter at the end; this was mounted on the side of the passenger air bag. i cant figure out where it plugs into or where it belonged.

the 2 wire is in the middle console area that is also brown and black, its located towards where the air bag module was located. i have no idea where that was plugged into either.

ive checked the bulbs, and fuses...anybody give some pointers?

Re: gauge lights

well, im still stuck on this thing. so far the ash trey light doesnt come on, the guage cluster light doesnt come on...the servives engine soon light and all that comes on but the actually light does not come on. also, the little wheel thing thing right next to the head lights and parking lights selector doesnt seem to work. when i push it up and "click" it to turn on the dome lights and map lights, it doesnt turn on either.

ill take some pictures in a few minutes so you guys can help me out!

here are some pictures. i did found out that the loose wire with the red connector went to the alarm light that was located on the top of the dash. i found out that another wire was for some sort of temp sensor for the heater core...that is correct right?

when you click on a picture, there is a caption on the bottom of it that has an explanation or where that wire is located near.

i also checked out all the fuses for the foglights and they are fine. i even switch out the relay for a new one and still nothing. the fuse box in my engine compartment is missing 2 fuses and those fuses say hdlp dr. i dont think i need those right? i never remember them being plugged in before. i flipped the fuse box over and there are wires running to the fuse spots so its not 2 empty slots.

please help me out here...and i thank you very very much!

oh yeah, one more thing...there is a loose connector that os right in front of the center console...its the first picture...i think this might be something that i need to be plugged in in order for the gauge lights to come on??? i checked out the bulbs and they are all fine along with the fuse right next to the dash.

Re: gauge lights

There is a dimming schematic on my page for a 1995. Yours is pretty much the same, except for the fuse locations. Looks like if you jump 12v to the dimmer fuse, you should see all your i/p lamp light up. You could also test by measuring voltage at the dimmer fuse when rolling the dimmer wheel.

Re: gauge lights

11.26V throughout the entire movement of the wheel.
