I would love to see some pictures. Especially of the shifter plate, and some type of radiator shroud, oh also the TB plate.

Is there anyway you can make a carbon fiber skull shift knob for an automatic? I have been looking everywhere for an auto knob thats a skull, IMPOSSIBLE to find!

I know it would be expensive as all hell, but I'd really like to see the interior panels in carbon fiber. The kick panels, sail panels, and rear speaker panels. That would be so awesome..

If you could make anything inexpensive enough, I think you would have a great shot at selling it...any company that makes anything has very high prices...and most people don't think they are worth it...I'd be interested in a few of the pieces though...

Yeah if you could somehow have the prices in a real moderate range I bet you sell a ton! There is a lot of interest but many people dont want to spend 800.00 like the last RKSPORT carbon fiber dash.

I am interested in a front nose emblem, throttle body plate, and maybe a license plate frame. Lets get some prices :)

I don't know how complex of die-making you're looking to get into, but I think it would be cool to make the wiper cowl piece out of carbon fiber, and have it smooth with no ugly vents in it.

He's not dead, we've been talking about this for a while now, so far he's done all his HVAC/Lighting control plates, shifter plate, the scoop on his hood, it looks AMAZING. I've seen it all in person, I'll see him tonight and take some pics of all that he's done so far for you all to see.

I am really liking the idea of the hood scoop inlay/overlay.

How much for a auto shifter plate?

First of boys...let's no get ahead of ourselves. True Carbon Fiber is very expensive. These so called CF hoods the riceboys buy are simply fiberglass hoods with a couple layers of CF over it...A solid Carbon Fiber SS hood would cost somewhere in the viscinity of 3-4000 dollars.. I can't do anything like that yet....BUT..If there was enough peopl interested in a fiberglass/Carbon hood..I MIGHT be able to convince my boss to make some because the race season is over during the winter and we need side projects like this to keep the money rolling. But in order to make it worth our while, we'd need a commitment of maybe 50 hoods or so..It'd be expensive..so that i cannot promise.....
My shift plate is simply the stock shift plate that has been covered in CF and clear coated by our paintshop. It is not the prettiest thing. It looks good...but not PERFECT. It is VERY hard to make things like that perfect without an alloy mold that has been super polished...For example, we just made a complete fan shroud for a Nissan concept SUV and the mold alone was $5000.
If i were to get a bunch of stock shift plates, i could possibly cover them in carbon and sell them for about $200-250 (Not sure yet though). I wouldn't need any kind of unit commitment for easy sh1t like that though..i could do individuals.
The Throttle Body Plates I could do for about $35 or so. Not real hard.
Nose Emblems are not hard...I could make a bunch of those.
BAWLS is gonna take pics of my stuff and post it for me.

As far as Fuel Rail Covers? I want some for MY car! loo
I'm gonna hafta figure out how to make some...unless i had a set of the Corvette covers to go off of, they would be different and not quite as nice...so I wanna find a set of those to use as a template.
Interior panels are hard to do..not impossible though. but i'd be hard pressed to convince my boss to do that because we'd hafta make molds off all the stuff..again..I'd hafta have preorders for that. But no other company makes complete interiors. The RKSport crap is just a few dash components.not close to being a complete interior.
My Hood inlay isn't something i could make and sell..it's one of a kind...It's was layed when i painted the hood so it is under the clear coat. Sorry ;-)
In all honesty...here's the parts I could make with little complication - Throttle Body Plate, Nose Emblem, Shift Plates (need cores though), Fuse Box Cover in engine bay, HVAC and Lights Backgrounds. The bigger stuff is gonna hafta be approved by my boss and if it is, can be made during the winter months.
I'm sorry if I've mislead anyone into thinking I'm making complete carbon fiber cars over here or something :D
But I'm gonna see what i can do.
If everyone would like to e-mail me listing each piece you'd be interested in buying in the near future, ZR28Racing@aol.com.
If i get enough interest, then things will happen...if it's just one or two people wanting one or two different things, then I'm not gonna be able to do a whole lot.
But i'll let you guys know of what is goin on with the whole thing!

Hey Trevor,

I closed your thread in the LT1 Tech forum and explained why. Unfortunately, I'll have to close this one too. I really hate to because I think what you are doing is very cool but we have to follow the rules.

I suggest watching the threads here and when somebody asks a question about about HVAC overlays or painting the interior, reply to those threads saying you can make some cool carbon fiber stuff for them. You can reply to threads to help other members out but you can't create your own threads about your products unless you are a paying advertiser... not fair to the guys who do pay advertising so they can do this.
