I blew a speaker about a week back, so I'm in the market for some replacement speakers. However, I am having difficulty finding 6.5" subs for the side panels behind the front seats. Are the stock speakers in the side panels even subs, or are they coaxial with just the bass line being delivered?
Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

If you have a Camaro you have 6.75" 2ohm subwoofers in the rear. If you have a Firebird you have 6.75" subwoofers with dual 4ohm voice coils. The signal going to them is low passed meaning that there are no highs. Replacing the speakers with co-axials would be a waste.

So who makes a good 6.75" 2ohm sub?

You can use a 6.5" sub. The problem is that no one makes a 2ohm sub. You are either going to have to get a 3ohm, 4ohm, or 8ohm.
I am replaceing mine this weekend with Audiobahn AMD60Q. Search on ebay for them, that is where I got mine. The stock sub is 2.5" deep, the audiobahn's are 3.5" deep. Will have to remove some of the metal behind the woofer to make it fit.

No one I know. It's out there though. Someone here or on the forum at LS1.com found some not long ago. I forget the brand name.

Well, I couldnt stand the lack of bass in my car so I went out an bought a cheap $13 6.5" sub (tube) at Kragen and it fit perfectly behind my seat and it works really good for the price. All you have to do is run the speaker wire to the sub on the floor.
I have a question though, is there an amp hooked up to these speakers?
