I have a question about the vacume acessories on the car. What do you do with them, with respect to boost? For instance the brake booster, are you supposed to install check valves for everything, or are you supposed to run a seperate electric vacume pump? Also after looking at some pics of various systems on line, I noticed a large canister in the system. Is it a vacume res, or does it serve some other purpose? I also want to know what to do with the PCV system? How does an FI car controll the crank case pressure?

You'll have to get a check valve for the PCV or re-route it
Your brake booster should already have a check valve in it

Most people don't use boost and the brakes at the same time.

I guess my thought was that a device that normaly sees a max of 15 inches of vacume suddenly gets 20+ psi of boost might dammage it, weather or not you are using it at the time. But thanks for your input. Also take your sh!t attitude to another post, it's not welcome here.

Brake booster: As Rob stated above.
PCV: Check here (http://www.projecttransam.com/projects7.asp) for the oil separator mod on the Project Trans Am webpage. I did this when I had my Procharger in place & it seemed to work OK.

First of all, there was no "sh!t attitude" intended, but if that's how you wanna take it, go for it!
Second, if this is how you think vacuum and boost work, you have no business playing with boost.

What about the guy bringing the revs up at the line? Some people don't want a transbrake. I think building boost and using the brakes at the same time is a very real scenario.
Later,
Steve.

Using the  smile is no way to start off. Also I am new to FI so I am going to have some questions about how the systems work. I know an opti spark is very sensitive to the ammount of vacume it sees (doesn't take much to crush the rotor). So naturally I wan't to know from people who have already been down that road, so I can keep suprises/ mistakes to a minimum. Who are you to tell me where my business should or should not be. Tell ya what... how about I get my car together and we will see how your car does against it. I would like to see if you have any business holding a wrench. :) What tracks do you go to? Are there any events you plan on going to this summer? Put your money where your mouth is. Lastly, if you have nothing useful to add to the topic, don't post. :p

From the posting (http://www.hommart.net/humour/smileys/fusilunette.gif) and replies (http://www.hommart.net/humour/smileys/sm99.gif) of this thread, if your mods weren't listed I'd think one of you had a PTK turbo & the other an STS :D.

You're right. Sorry for not keeping it together. It got out of hand and it turned into a bad thread. Probably best to just let this one die.

In respect to your original question, yes if you're under a boost condition, yoiur brake booster will not see a vaccum. I had a blower car and have had experience on severl others and have not seen any issues with braking preformance. If it becomes an issue, you could run an electric vaccum pump like GM use to install on small cars for this very purpose. It's setup usually to come on at 11 inches and click off at about 18. I'd have to think about how to route it with a check valve because it should be placed between the intake and the brake booster but I'm not sure how that would work with the intake being pressurized.
