Hey let me know if this makes sense. My buddy just picked up an 05 gt. And I just finished my first mods... SLP lid and free mods. his GT is bone stock.

So we both decide to go dyno at shop in corona, CA. Now the mustang GT is RATED at 300HP and 320TQ. And My Z28 is rated at 305/320.
I dynoed my car when I first got it and w/ mobile 1 and 100Octain it dynoed at 298/310.

Now I shouldn't see a big differance with the lid because not alot of air is flowing from the small fan they have at the dyno shop.

OK so he dynos first and his 05 mustang GT was 267/289!
I dynoed at 301/317.

Now i heard some GTs run mid 13s in the quarter. how is that with only 267/289 to the wheels??

My car ran about a 13.8?

What are your thoughts????????????

Do u have 273's or 323's. If 323's your car should be running atleast lower 13's....those are just about right numbers for the manual 05 GTs....You'll still pull him fairly easy uptop. fastest 05 ive seen so far has been a 13.3 and a 13.1 w/ a reflash I believe

Nice #s on your LS1! The highest bone stock '05 GT i've seen made 280 rwhp. Was the Stang a 5-speed? You probably had poor traction when you ran the 13.8. What was your trap speed? That is an indicator of hp.

Simple.
The '05 Mustang GT is underrated by about 20hp, and the LS1 is underrated (in F-bodies) by about 50hp.
With 298rwhp the F-body should run ~105-109mph variables depending. The GT will run around 101-104mph (and faster with a flash tune to defeat the drive-by-wire gremlins).
The GT's seem to get down the track efficiently...which to me is more of a point than trap speed.

You drive a mustang and don't know that both auto's and manuals are 5 speed. :(

Yes, I know that. You are probably too young to know the old timers language on sticks vs. automatics. When somebody says 3-speed, 4-speed, 5-speed, 6-speed, etc. they mean a stick. You have to specify automatic if you mean it. Car ads are the same way.

You driven a few mustangs...and you post on cz28 to find out what ratio gears to put in your GT...lol, sorry we cant all know it all like you.

That's a little too optimistic.

The dyno numbers in my sig. were with a lid and a muffler.

My car probably makes about 305/325 right now and the best MPH I've managed is the in my sig.

The 6 speeds I believe are a 12% drivetrain loss and the 4L60-E's I can't remember, but I thought were 18%... ok I'm done with the useless information... to be perfectly honest, I was just trying to reach my 700th post :D ;)

My good friend ran a 12.85@110 with a lid, HTPP, FRA, ORYP, Cutout.

98 Z28 m6 fully loaded except leather, 59k miles.

It sounds about right to me, that 300rqhp can get you in the 108mph, if you can shift(m6 car)

Yeah...I'd like to hear more about that too.
Pics, specs?
There's a big difference between 15 and 20psi...why the range?

You won't get to 700 posting in the kill section. I've been stuck at 1 post for 2 years cause I only post here.
